Winter Sonata – Yongpyong Resort, Korea ~ 2008

The beginning of love – Café “Cheo-Um”

“You’ve never been in love before, have you?” The cafe Yoojin was in charge of its renovation, where Joonsang played the piano and prepared the first dinner for Yoojin.

Since Yongpyeong Resort located at the center of Baekdudaegan in Korea is sitting in a clean highland 700 meters to 1500 meters above the sea level, it is called ‘Alps in Korea.’ As it records 250cm in snowfall on annual average, skiers can enjoy skiing from the middle of November to early April the following year on the back of its advantageous location. Yongpyeong World Cup Ski was held twice, and Asian Winter Games were successfully held in Yongpyeong Resort. It is expected to be used as a resting place for athletes during the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. Diversified 27 slopes including rainbow slopes and such lift facilities as a 3.7km-long gondola, the Asia’s longest gondola, are adored by ski manias. If one gets on a gondola bound for Sky Garden to mount ‘Dragon Peak,’ he or she can come across a life-size standing signboard in a spot where Jun-sang and Yu-jin, main characters in ‘Winter Sonata,’ built a snowman and had the first kiss.
