Kampong Phluk Floating Village Boat Ride, Siem Reap Cambodia ~ 2011

Kompong Phluk the name means "Harbor of the Tusks". The community largely depends on fishing for survival, primarily shrimp, spending Cambodia's wet season (May-October) fishing. Many houses and buildings are constructed on stilts ranging from 6 m to 9 m to accommodate the changes in water level between wet and dry seasons. Take a boat ride to explore the floating village of Kompong Phluk on Tonle Sap Lake, and explore the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.

My visit on Feb which is the dry season, the water level was very low and the stilts were clearly visible
