Miang Kham Recipe

 

Miang kham (Thai: เมี่ยงคำ, RTGSmiang kham), pronounced [mîaŋ kʰām]) is a traditional Southeast Asian snack from Thailand and Laos (Lao: ໝ້ຽງ Lao pronunciation: [mȉaːŋ]). It was introduced to the Siamese court of King Rama V by Princess Dara Rasmi.[1] In Malaysia it is called Sirih Kaduk. The name miang kham translates to 'one bite wrap', from miang ('food wrapped in leaves') and kham ('a bite'). 

The name "Miang Kham" means "one bite-size wrap". Form Miang (snack wrapped in piper sarmentosum leaves) and Kham (one bite) in Thailand

 

Ingredients

  • 10 bai chaplu or Daun Kaduk.portion
  • Portion roasted peanuts (Optional)
  • Portion dried shrimp
  • Small diced limes
  • Thinly sliced Chilies (Optional)
  • Small diced shallot
  • Small diced ginger

  • Miang Kham Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dried Rojak paste
  • 1 Tbspwater
  • 1 Tbsp sugar 
  • 1 Tbsp Fish sauce 
  • 1/2 spoon sesame seed
