How to clean and cut a whole crab

 

 

Buy fresh Crab from the market

1.     Place the crab on a flat surface (Chopping board)

2.     Lie the crab on its back, lift the tail flap and insert a spike (Sharp Knife), Insert the knife through the whole over.

3.     Leave the crab aside till no movement (more or less about a minute or two)

4.     Try tapping the crab shell (If the eyes don’t react means is safe to proceed)

5.     Discard the tail flap (Can just cut away with scissor)

6.     Remove the shell (Put your thumb under the shell, 123 pull it up and off)

7.     Clean the internal of the shell (Normally I will clean it and keep it for decoration purpose)

8.     Now clean the body, can use scissor to cut or just use hand to tear those unwanted parts. Remove the gills and the internal parts.

9.     Cut the body into half

10.  Cut the tips of the legs

11.  Clean the external of crab with brush

12.  Can separate the crawl or keep it intact with the body.

13.  Cracked the claws with a heavy object (heat evenly during cooking)

14.  Wash and clean the crab piece, set side.

 

Now choose your recipe to cook a crab
